How To Find The Windows XP Secret Song

These steps below will help you easily find and listen to the Windows XP “secret song”. It’s actually not secret at all, because it’s supposed to play after/during the installation of Windows XP, but Microsoft forgot that audio drivers aren’t included for some machines so odds are you won’t be able to hear it. These steps will work on any version of Windows XP. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Windows XP machine because I will be sure to upload the secret song to Tumblr so everyone can enjoy!

Step 1. Click on the “Start” button on the bottom left of your computer. Then click on “My Computer”.

Step 2. Now click on you local disk which is usually the C: drive.

Step 3. Now click on the Windows folder within your local disk. Note that a warning message might say something about how it could be potentially harmful if you mess with some of the files, just click show files or something along those lines.

Step 4: Navigate to the “System32” folder within the “Windows” folder.

Step 5: Now find the folder called “oobe”, double click to open it up.

Step 6: Now find a folder called “images” within the “oobe” folder.

Step 7: Once you are in the “images” folder find an audio file call “title”. This is the Windows XP “secret song”. I usually like to copy and paste the file onto my Desktop that way I don’t always have to navigate through a bunch of folder to find it. I would also suggest renaming it so you know what it is later, something like “Windows XP Song” would do.

Enjoy!!!
